You MUST follow these rules at all times everywhere. Failure to follow these rules may result in a warning, suspension, or even a permanent or IP ban.
1. First and foremost: no trades or IRL meetups, ever.
This is mainly to ensure the safety of minors (though that's not to say bad things can't happen to adults too.) People on the interwebs are not always who they say they are. (You've probably been hearing this since you were old enough to hold an electronic device, but it still needs to be said just in case.) You may not ask people to meet up with you in-person, give people your address to trade kandi by mail, or ask people to meet you in real life. [NOTE: This goes for adults too, not just minors.]
2. Don't be a jerk.
Nobody likes a bully. If you don't have anything nice to say, keep it to yourself. Discrimination of any kind is not permitted and will result in an immediate 24-hour suspension. Using being a jerk as your "sense of humor" is also not allowed. Even if you say "jk", "/j", or something to that effect, you are still being mean (and therefore, will receive consequences). Also, telling people to harm themselves or threatening to harm them (again, even in a joking manner) will result in an immediate IP ban, no exceptions whatsoever. Death threats are never justifiable in any way, shape or form. And remember PLUR- peace, love, unity, and respect.
3. Keep sensitive topics off the table.
We understand that not everyone has a place to vent, but this site is not the place. (We recommend writing what's bothering you down in a journal or a word document on your device.) For those who do not know, "vents" are a form of expressing how you are feeling (usually in the form of words). There is nothing wrong with this, but due to the fact that vents are usually negative (though there is such a thing as a positive vent, and these are allowed) and can even trigger those who have had bad past experiences or are recovering from a mental health struggle, we ask that you do not vent here. We want to keep this place as positive as possible. If you believe that you or someone you know is in a dangerous mental state, please do not hesitate to call the support hotline for your area.
4. Keep it clean.
No NSFW (this will also get you immediately IP banned) or heavy swearing (because the kandi community has a large population of minors, and it's just unnecessary and can make others uncomfortable, respectively.) Also, do not link to content of this nature (note on the "heavy swearing" bit: we are a little more lax when it comes to this rule regarding written works). This rule applies to your posts, icon, status, and signature.
5. Respect boundaries.
Some people just don't like certain things or actions. If someone asks you to not bring up a certain subject in their presence, don't do it. Making fun or mocking someone for having a boundary is considered and infraction of rule 3 as it is bullying. Also, do not put images containing gore/blood, flashing lights, or very bright eyestrainy colors as your profile picture.
6. Be safe.
Tying in with rule 1: do not give out any personal info. This means your full name (first and middle are fine), address (state and country are fine), phone number, exact age (you may state if you are a minor or adult and give a range, however) or full date of birth. (We are considering allowing people to give out their emails, but we are leaning towards "no" at the current moment.) Social media links are fine as long as they do not contain personal information or adult content.
7. Have fun!
If everyone remembers PLUR (peace, love, unity, respect) and follows these rules, we can create a safe and caring community. An orderly forum is a happy forum.
Enjoy your stay!
